Description

The Excelsior Vittoria, located in the town centre of Sorrento on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples, is set amongst the citrus groves in the main square on the seafront of Sorrento.

It is said that the Roman Emperor Augustus had a beautiful villa built on the very same spot but the Excelsior Vittoria was built here in 1834, overlooking the spectacular views of the Bay of Naples. Built to retain its heritage interiors are tastefully decorated and contain antique pieces and artworks.

Overlooking the garden, Garden Rooms are elaborately furnished and decorated with Renaissance style trompe l'oeils. There is a marble bathroom and veranda. All rooms are ensuite with air-conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, safety deposit box and direct dial telephone.

Facilities

The Vittoria Dining Room with its majestic frescoed ceiling, serves haute cuisine prepared by the award-winning chef Vincenzo Galano. The Bosquet terrace overlooks the Gulf with Mount Versuvius visible in the distance.

The natural marble and teak wood pool is in the gardens, set against the bright, colourful backdrop of the bougainvillea plants, olive, orange and lemon trees, and amazing array of palm trees, yuccas and marine pines. It has whirlpool jets and a special counter-current unit, whilst the solarium covers an area of 200 sq.m. The paddling pool for children is made of the same materials as the larger pool and is located just a few metres from it.

Built in a converted greenhouse located in the hotel’s garden amid olive and orange trees, the holistic centre LA SERRA has been designed as a place for the pleasure of renewing indulgence
